I've been working on some extra features for this site for a little while now and am pleased to say that they're now complete and ready for perusal. These are some lists that I've been working my way through, and I guess they represent the closest thing the world has to a film canon (if such a thing exists). Click on each one to see the full list, count how many films you've seen, click on any links I've provided for films I've reviewed so far.
1001 Movies You Should See Before You Die - this is a list from a popular book put together by a team of well-respected film critics. It includes a large variety of films from all genres and encompasses the history of filmmaking from 1902 to the present day.
They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? - this is probably an even more comprehensive list, and is less biased. It's the result of collecting data related to the most well-respected 'Greatest Film' lists from all over the world, and is calculated based on results rather than a pick-and-choose method.
Best Film Academy Award Winners - this is a list of all the Best Film winners since the Oscars started.
And here are two other lists just for fun...
James Bond - all the James Bond films, both 'official' and 'unofficial'.
Disney - all of Disney's cinematically-released animated feature films.
